You don’t only need a cake base for gateaus but for flans as well and they are perfect for cake pops as well. You could, of course, buy one, but where is the fun in that?
We baked a lot so far and we gotta admit that not everything was edible. but we developed our own recipe and now we use it all the time and we won’t keep it to us any longer.

- Seperate the eggs and beat the egg white with a pinch of salt.
- Mix the egg yolks with butter and sugar, add flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar. Then add milk and if it is quite hard, don't worry, step 3 will solve the problem.
- Fold the egg white in until you get a smooth cream. Now just place it in the form and the oven for about 20 minutes on 170°C.
If you want to make a dark base, just add abbot 50 g of baking cocoa and another sip of milk. best would be before you fold in the egg white.
We found out that the base is very fluffy when you whisk the egg white instead of just adding it like it is. It is worth trying;) You can multiply the base as much as you like. There is no problem with that.
If you want to make cake pops, you can either take some left-overs or actually bake a base cake and use it. There are so many ways, easiest is to add some cream cheese and flavor and that is enough. They are perfect in case you don’t wanna bake a whole cake:)
have fun, Jana 🙂
